Foundations that matter
A thoughtful and responsible building practice is really important to us, and we consider this practice in everything we do.
As HIA GreenSmart award-winning builders, we are proud to be part of the movement towards sustainable architecture. Our ethos includes a focus on residential sustainability solutions and the use of locally sourced materials to create low-energy homes that harmonise with their surroundings, including the stunning regions of the Surf Coast and Greater Geelong.
This means we:
Do things properly
We don’t cut corners. That means quality materials, skilled local trades, and a level of care you can feel in the final finish.Tread lightly
We are GreenSmart-accredited, and focused on sustainable, smart passive design. Our builds aim to reduce your footprint without compromising on form or function.Keep it collaborative
We believe good outcomes come from clear expectations. That’s why we prioritise open communication and transparency at every stage, especially early in the design process so our clients have all the information they need to make the most environmentally responsible choices for their particular build.Leave it better
From reducing waste to reusing materials where we can, we aim to leave every site—and the industry—better than we found it.

Iain brings 19 years of construction experience and a genuine passion for turning visions into reality. For him, carpentry isn't just building, it's creative problem-solving that pushes him to excel in every project.
He thrives on substantial renovations and their unique challenges. A standout project involved incorporating three levels of structural steel into a renovation, which he designed, detailed, and fabricated with his team. It showcased both technical skill and the creative spirit at Keystone.
Iain has a particular love for rejuvenating old timber, finding joy in bringing materials back to life with respect for traditional craftsmanship. Ultimately, satisfied customers are his greatest reward.
As a nationally qualified ski patroller and registered builder, Iain fosters a learning culture within his team while balancing his role as father to two energetic children. He enjoys mountain biking, dirt biking, camping, and skiing.
Iain keeps job sites organised and efficient, living by the philosophy: "Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life." Under his leadership, Keystone Construction flourishes through his vision, creativity, and dedication to great client outcomes.

Peter brings 15 years of carpentry experience and a genuine love for transforming raw materials into beautiful, functional spaces. He finds real satisfaction in crafting something meaningful from nothing, treating each project as a creative opportunity.
He takes particular pride in a challenging Queenscliff renovation that tested his problem-solving skills and creative thinking. The result delighted both clients and the team. At Keystone, Peter thrives in the high morale environment where proactive planning and work-life balance are priorities.
Peter believes in continuous learning alongside mastering the fundamentals. He enjoys using tools and techniques that boost efficiency and precision, living by the advice to "measure twice, cut once."
Outside work, Peter's an avid golfer who enjoys motorbike riding and following football. He loves tackling home renovation projects and recently discovered he's got some serious breakdancing moves (who knew?).
Growing up near the RAAF base in Sale, Peter once dreamed of becoming a pilot. While he found his calling in carpentry instead, you might catch him eyeing planes overhead between measuring cuts.

Luke's got five years in construction and a genuine passion for working with his hands. He loves tackling renovations and transforming buildings, giving them new life through solid craftsmanship.
Luke treats every project as a chance to overcome obstacles, trusting proven processes and working with his team to find solutions. His favourite tool is the laser level because precision matters in good carpentry. He reckons strong maths skills are crucial for planning and executing projects properly.
At Keystone, Luke enjoys the camaraderie with his workmates and thrives on collaborating through innovative projects. The team creates a supportive environment where creativity and teamwork actually flourish.
Outside work, Luke's all about adventure. He's into dirt biking, mountain biking, surfing, and walking his dog. Family time matters, and he loves bonding with colleagues over free trade breakfasts.
Here's something his workmates might not know: Luke's middle name is Buster. The best advice he ever got was to "grow up," which reminds him to embrace maturity while keeping his sense of humour intact. He's excited to keep expanding his skills and taking on new challenges at Keystone.

Cain's got a lifelong love for working with his hands and was drawn to carpentry for its variety and unique challenges. With five years in construction, he loves seeing tangible results from his hard work every day and has developed skills that make him a solid team player.
The collaborative spirit with his workmates is what really drives Cain. He reckons teamwork is essential for quality results and thrives on the energy and creativity that comes from working closely with others. For him, good communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn are what make a successful carpenter.
In his downtime, Cain enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Mishka and Monnie. Whether it's throwing frisbees, going for runs and hikes, or heading out on camping trips together, those family adventures are some of his most treasured moments.
Cain lives by the wisdom: "Focus on what you can control and don't worry about what you can't." It keeps him balanced in work and life. As he continues growing at Keystone, he's committed to honing his skills and embracing new challenges with quality craftsmanship always front of mind.

Charlie's always been drawn to an active lifestyle and working with his hands, which naturally led him to carpentry. He loves the dynamic challenges and problem-solving that come with each day. With two and a half years of apprenticeship under his belt, he's embracing what the construction industry has to offer.
His standout project was the expansive Queenscliff build, where he got involved in every phase from framing and structural steel work to cladding and finishing. That's where he really honed his skills and developed a love for the complexities of timber framing. Nail guns and saws are his go-to tools.
Charlie's committed to quality craftsmanship and takes pride in sourcing good materials so each project reflects the team's hard work. The best moments come after finishing a job when he and his workmates can step back and admire what they've built.
At Keystone, Charlie appreciates the organised approach to projects because efficiency means getting things right the first time. Outside work, he loves camping, fishing, and surfing to recharge in nature.
While he enjoys carpentry, Charlie sometimes dreams of a career that lets him travel within the industry to feed his adventurous spirit. He's always up for spontaneous outdoor challenges and thrives at Keystone, building both structures and solid connections with his team.
